In the last two years, through the work of Somatic Archaeology™, I have found tools to learn how to return to my body and excavate the emotions I still held. When I did this, I was able to express and create movement of those old images, sensations, thoughts, and feelings. In trauma, there is a loss of control and safety. With Somatic Archaeology™, I learned how to restore that sense of safety in my body where the trauma lives. Drawing from my own healing, I have learned to translate these tools into my work with clients as a Psychotherapist specializing in trauma, loss, and catastrophic illness. I have discovered that therapeutic somatic treatments are more holistic than limited stereotypical talk psychotherapies. Somatic Archaeology™ is vital to restoring so many lives within our culture that are frozen and disconnected by traumatic events. S.D. Psychotherapist “Somatic Archaeology™ is a very intense personal growth or awakening process. It is a journey of the soul, a journey to the ‘self’, unravelling the layers of protection and identity covering the truth, or the love of who you truly are. It is not intellectual. It is very experiential and requires a willingness and some courage to expose all the masks or hidden aspects of your Self. There is a containment of support and unconditional love in the session held by the Somatic Archaeology™ practioner who has already been through the process. It is an unforgettable, very moving and without question – a life changing journey.” |
Testimonials For WorkshopsA.B. - Massage Therapist “Ruby is an amazing teacher with much wisdom to share. I thought I had “dealt” with many of the issues in my life but during the Somatic Archaeology™ training many issues resurfaced for clearing. The results were profound. As a massage therapist I now feel confident helping many others address their emotional response to their body, as well as how it impacts them physically and spiritually. The training Ruby offers is invaluable. She has years of experience that she shares brilliantly!” T.R. - Bodyworker “When I started the Somatic Archaeology™ training, I was at a point of knowing and needing something deeper in my own life. SA widened my senses, creating awareness of the suffering within myself, and then spread like a blanket out to everyone in my path. I began to see the world in a greater plan, discovering the power of information in my own body, and how that created space to help others to do the same. SA opens up those of us who are ready to access who we are, where we came from, why we are the way we are, and most importantly, that we can change what has carried for many lifetimes and generations. Ruby carries with her much awareness, insight, and experience. I love her deeply for the wisdom she has been given – for her passion, insights, support and her capacity to trust.” PLVT - Educator “I attended the Somatic Archaeology™ program in May 2005. Although I had gone through conventional talk therapy and a plethora of other body related healing work, I feel that this training and the somatic work I did with my peers in class opened a door I was unable to enter until these experiences. In the past I was anxiety ridden, and still suffering symptoms of a long standing eating disorder. I had made physical changes, but I was not living as authentically as I had hoped. I have now been free of any eating disorder behavior for almost two years and obtained the things I desired most in life. I have attracted a wonderful, kind gentle man and am happily married. I believe the biggest change has been the ability to seek answers to questions within myself, and truly having the inner wisdom to know and feel what is right for me. No more than seven days ever pass without being triggered by a “memory” and I am appreciative deep into my core that I took the time to go inward with Somatic Archaeology, which has enabled me to live a more balanced, happy life. |
